Reincarnate strengthens circular design practices by bringing reuse directly into the architectural design process. Deliverable 3.3 – Parametric Design Tool for Reused Building Parts and Recycled Materials introduces a BIM-based parametric tool that enables architects and property owners to integrate reused components and recycled materials into new designs and renovation projects.
The report presents a parametric design workflow developed within the Revit–Dynamo environment that supports the extraction, matchmaking and reintegration of building components from a secondary marketplace. By combining geometric matching, adjustable tolerance levels and embodied carbon calculations, the tool allows users to compare reused components with design requirements and generate alternative BIM models that prioritise reuse over new production.

By embedding reuse logic into digital design workflows, this deliverable demonstrates how parametric tools can reduce waste, improve material efficiency and support circular construction practices.
The deliverable was a joint effort led by TUB, with contributions from TUB, MOS, DMO, TUD, 3L, VIAS and RAS, and reviewed by Timo Hartmann (TUB), Sabine Kruschwitz (BAM), Samaneh Rezvani (DMO) and Eren Cavusoglu (DMO).
