As part of Reincarnate’s dissemination activities, Niharika Parasar from our partner Erasmus University Rotterdam represented the project at the 36th Annual Conference of the International Association for Business and Society (IABS), held from 3 to 6 April 2025 at Maastricht University’s School of Business and Economics in the Netherlands.

This edition was the largest in IABS history, gathering over 280 participants from more than 40 countries. The conference featured 137 paper presentations and 90 discussion sessions, symposia, workshops, and innovative formats covering a wide range of topics — from climate change, AI, and human rights to social entrepreneurship, ethics, CSR, and sustainable business models.

Niharika presented her paper “Unveiling Barriers and Harnessing Organizational Communication to Advance Circular Solutions in the Construction Industry”, which investigates how communication practices within companies influence the implementation of circular economy principles. Her work shows how fragmented communication and unclear responsibilities can hinder circular transitions, while effective dialogue and knowledge exchange can serve as key enablers of change.

Her session, attended by around twenty-five participants, fostered rich discussion on how organisational structures and communication dynamics shape the practical realisation of sustainability goals. The IABS 2025 conference provided an exceptional platform for cross-disciplinary exchange, connecting Reincarnate’s research on circular construction with wider reflections on business ethics, governance, and systemic transformation
