On September 4th, 2024, the Reincarnate project took another step forward in its mission to foster innovation in the construction industry by hosting the latest in a series of exploitation workshops at Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin). The workshop brought together industry experts and stakeholders to refine the project’s innovations, which are central to Reincarnate’s goal of driving circularity in construction, reducing waste, and promoting sustainable practices.

Workshop Highlights: Create value opportunities & assess market potential

The workshop aimed to explore and validate the market potential of the project’s Key Exploitable Assets (KEAs) and accelerate their adoption in the construction industry.

  • Circular Potential Information Management (CP-IM) platform: An information management platform that evaluates the circularity potential of buildings, helping stakeholders make informed decisions.
  • Building Assessment Robots: Cutting-edge wall-climbing robots and drone technology that automate the assessment of a building’s circular value.
  • Tiny House Production: Automated solutions for constructing tiny homes using only reused building components, significantly reducing resource consumption.

The event, organized by TU Berlin’s Department of Research and Technology Transfer, followed a structured agenda designed to work on the value propositions for each KEA. The day was divided into two key modules:

  • Create Module: This segment focused on identifying and refining the value propositions for each KEA and analyzing their market potential.
  • Validate Module: The second part of the day was dedicated to market validation through competitor analysis, development of a Unique Selling Proposition (USP), and creating target customer personas.

‘’Understanding the challenges we are addressing and the value we are bringing to the market is crucial for real exploitation. This workshop allowed us to refine our value propositions, ensuring our innovations effectively meet industry needs and deliver tangible benefits for stakeholders ‘’ expressed Samaneh Rezvani, leader of the Exploitation task.

Throughout the full-day workshop, participants engaged in hands-on activities and group exercises, exchanging ideas and feedback through interactive sessions such as the “World Café” format, while working to validate the market readiness of these innovations.

Moreover, external experts from the field were invited to provide insights and real-world validation to ensure the KEAs were aligned with market needs and future business opportunities

The next steps involve refining these KEAs based on feedback from the workshop, conducting further market research, and pushing towards the commercialization and practical application of these innovations in the construction industry.
