Reincarnate drives circular innovation by developing pathways to enhance, repurpose and reintegrate building components into new value cycles. Deliverable 2.3 – Upgrade Solutions for Construction Products explores how upgraded, repurposed and reused building components (URRBC) can reduce environmental impact, extend material life and support the shift away from linear demolition practices.
The report identifies key bottlenecks that limit the uptake of upgraded products — from lack of traceability and technical data to regulatory and market barriers — and shows how a CP-IM platform can overcome them by providing reliable information, quality assurance and decision support. It also highlights design and market strategies needed to boost acceptance of upgraded components, building on recent research showing a tipping point in the demand for upcycled products.

By enabling trust, transparency and practical reuse pathways, upgrade solutions help unlock a more regenerative, resource-efficient construction ecosystem.
