On February 14th, partner Demo Consultants (DMO), represented by Samaneh Rezvani and Eren Çavuşoğlu, organised the first workshop in the Reincarnate’s exploitation series. The workshop series is designed to present insights, reflect on the exploitable results of our work and encourage collaborative exploration among the team with the main objective of increasing the project impact and ensuring acceleration of market uptake of Reincarnate. The first interactive session introduced the framework proposed by DMO, as the exploitation partner leaders, inspired by the R2π Project-Carbon Trust Circular Economy Business Model Patterns and Reincarnate’s eight-step exploitation methodology.

The session started by explaining Key Exploitable Assets (KEAs). These results included knowledge dissemination, technical features and services framework, and strategic relationships established with relevant stakeholders. The initial Key Exploitable Results (KERs) identified by the team and proposed to the European Commission focused on Reincarnate’s CP-IM platform, Building Assessment Robots, and the Tiny House Concepts.

The presentation followed by sharing insights about the R2π framework and how it aligns with Reincarnate’s R-Nine strategies for developing Circular Economy Business Models (CEBM). These models aim to create, deliver, and capture value while supporting the regeneration of finite natural resources. Simultaneously, it ensures that products, components, and materials remain at their highest value and utility within a specific system boundary. The R2π framework categorizes the 7 CEBM patterns in the following comprehensive picture:

DMO seamlessly translated these patterns into Reincarnate’s business canvases approach, unveiling an eight-step methodology for exploitation. This method involved understanding and innovating, providing a roadmap to exploit better results generated in the coming years.

The session concluded with a stimulating discussion and valuable insights. Furthermore, we explored innovative approaches for generating training materials to effectively utilize our research findings.

What comes after learning the eight-step Methodology?

In 2024, we will take the first four steps. Our partner DMO will provide valuable support in identifying the CEBM patterns and establishing our first canvases. We will create an As-is business model that is ready to be assessed on its tendency, whether circular or linear. To further refine our as-is business models, DMO will conduct an evaluation that consists of ranking the CEBM patterns based on the assessment and generating heat maps that reveal which business canvas elements should be prioritized.

We are currently planning our second exploitation workshop, which will serve as a platform for brainstorming ideas and supporting the first two steps of our methodology. The workshop aims to fuel innovative thinking on exploitation, uncover novel approaches, and share patterns and ideas among the team so that we can create canvases that take our circular developments far and wide.
