Reincarnate advances circular renovation practices with a framework that guides practical, evidence-based planning for building transformation. Deliverable 2.2 – Circular Decision-Making for Extending the Use Life of Real Estate Assets provides systematic guidelines for developing renovation scenarios, supporting sustainable practices, and reducing construction and demolition waste.

The report defines a structured approach across three levels — determining the initial intervention direction, developing renovation scenarios, and guiding product-level end-of-life strategies. A hypothetical case study illustrates the framework’s application, with real-world validation to follow through upcoming Reincarnate demonstration projects.

By providing a transparent process for assessing renovation options, circular decision-making supports the transition toward a more sustainable, data-informed built environment.

The deliverable was a joint effort led by Brian van Laar (TUD), Angela Greco (TUD), Hilde Remøy (TUD) and Vincent Gruis (TUD), with contributions from TUB, DMO, 3L, RAS and VIAS, and reviewed by BAM.
